What will feel familiar
If your group plays Monopoly Deal, you already know how a game of SettleUp goes:
- Finish 3 full property sets to win.
- Draw 2 cards, play up to 3, and keep 7 at the end of your turn.
- Bank money and action cards to pay what you owe, with no change given.
- Two-color wild cards, rainbow wild cards, and rent cards for two colors or any color.
- Action cards that take a property, swap properties, take a whole full set, collect a debt, or make everyone pay for your birthday.
- A card that says no, and a no to that no.
- Houses and Hotels that raise the rent on a full set.
The cards have their own names in SettleUp, like Sneaky Steal, Swap It!, Take It All!, No Way! and Pay Up!, and every one tells you what it does in plain words. The rules page shows every card.

Why groups play SettleUp

No arguments about rules
The game knows when a set is full, how much rent is owed and which cards can pay, so you can focus on the stealing.
Fast turns
When a rent card hits everyone, every player answers at once, and a turn timer keeps things moving.

Questions people ask
Is SettleUp the official Monopoly Deal game?
No. SettleUp is an independent game with its own cards, names and artwork. It is not made, sponsored or approved by Hasbro, which owns the Monopoly and Monopoly Deal trademarks.
Is there a free game like Monopoly Deal to play online with friends?
Yes. SettleUp is a free property card game in the same spirit. You play it in the browser with 2 to 6 friends, with no sign-up and nothing to download.
Are the rules the same as Monopoly Deal?
They are very close: 3 full sets to win, draw 2 cards, play up to 3 and keep 7. One difference to know: in SettleUp any 3 full sets win, even two of the same color. Rooms can also turn on house rules, like stopping Take It All! from winning the game.
Can 6 people play?
Yes. A room seats up to 6 players. With 6, SettleUp shuffles two decks together (212 cards), so there are twice as many of every card.
Can I play against the computer?
Yes. The practice game puts you against the Dealer, a computer player, and shows you what to play while you learn.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. SettleUp runs in the browser on iPhone, Android phones, tablets and computers. There is no app to install.
